Liberals Sell Out College of Teachers (Queen's Park) Opposition Education Critic, Tory MPP Frank Klees called on the Liberal Education Minister today to re-think the government's Bill 78 provisions that will give control of the province's College of Teachers to the teacher unions. Klees referred to comments m a de on the issue by three former Educ a tion Ministers representing Ontario 's three political parties. All expressed serious concerns reg a rding the Liberals' plans to stack the College's Governing Council with members of teacher unions. Klees, who had requested that the College of Teachers be available for questioning during the legislature's Standing Committee on Estimates Hearings pointed out that under questioning even the current Chair of the College insisted that the College should not be controlled by teacher unions. Two former registrars of the College have expressed their strong opposition to the government's proposed changes to the College. Hansard of Question and Answer click here
