Town Hall Meeting

(Newmarket-Aurora)  Newmarket-Aurora MPP Frank Klees will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting to address the proposed cancellation of two GO Bus service routes serving Newmarket and Aurora, and transferring the routes to YRT’s VIVA.

The meeting is being organized by Klees in response to concerns that the changes will increase the cost and travel time for commuters.

The two routes affected are the 62 Newmarket B GO Bus service between Newmarket and York Mills, and the 64 Newmarket York U GO Bus to York University.

“I’m hopeful that this meeting will clarify the proposed changes and reassure commuters that any changes to transit services will neither increase costs nor add to the commute time,” said Klees. “If that is not the case, I expect that both GO Transit and YRT will revisit their plans.”
