Province slow to embrace electric cars by Sean Pearce

Newmarket and Aurora MPP and PC transportation critic, Frank Klees said all of the so-called safety issues around LSVs are nothing but excuses and an example of “decision gridlock”.

The government owes it to Ontarians to provide alternatives amid soaring gas prices and to do so quickly, Mr. Klees added.

“I’ve been calling on the ministry to approve of these vehicles for the last year and a half given the challenges with rising gasoline costs and I’m disappointed that once again all we have is yet another study,” he said. “Surely we can rely on the studies performed two other provinces and move on with the approval process, but they’re taking any steps they can to delay this and I just don’t see any point to it; we should just get on with it.”
